Building a defensible photo record

At capture
- Establish location context with a wide shot before the detail shot
- Capture continuously rather than selecting moments after the fact
- Write your observation as a note on the image while you're there
- Keep the device clock synced to network time, not set manually
Chain of custody
- Preserve original files — export ZIPs of originals, not re-compressed copies
- Record the file fingerprint at capture, before any copy is distributed
