Common questions

How do I stamp a photo?

Open the Photos tab and tap the camera button to take a new photo, or tap any photo already in the grid to stamp one you took earlier. Each photo is automatically overlaid with the date, time, location, and any other details you've configured in Settings → Edit your Timestamp. The flow is the same on iPhone, iPad, and Android.

How do I change the stamp's font, color, or position?

Go to Settings → Edit your Timestamp to change the font, text color, date & time format, caption, and position of the stamp. Your changes apply to every photo you stamp from that point on.

Why isn't the location showing on my photos?

Location stamps depend on location access in both Timestamp It and your device's Camera app. For Timestamp It on iPhone: open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Timestamp It, then choose While Using the App and turn on Precise Location. For Camera on iPhone: open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera, then choose While Using the App and turn on Precise Location. If you're using Android, open Settings → Apps → Timestamp It → Permissions → Location and allow access, then do the same for your Camera app. After updating permissions, fully close and reopen the app before taking or stamping photos.

How many photos can I stamp at once?

In the Photos tab, tap an unstamped photo to select it, then tap each additional photo you want to include — there's no press-and-hold step, every tap adds or removes a photo. Tap the stamp button to apply your overlay to all of them in one go. A single batch holds up to 250 photos; stamp anything beyond that as a second batch.

What do I get with Timestamp It Pro?

On every platform, Pro unlocks all fonts, unlimited stamping, cloud backup, and team collaboration. On iPhone and iPad it also adds StampCam and PDF, Excel, and ZIP export, which are coming to Android. Go to Settings → Upgrade to Timestamp It Pro to see the current subscription options.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Pro is billed by whichever store you subscribed through, so that's where you manage it. Subscribed on iPhone or iPad: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Timestamp It. Subscribed on Android: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, then Timestamp It. Either way you can view your renewal date, change your plan, or cancel. Canceling stops future renewals and you keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Stamping Photos

How do I stamp a photo?

Open the Photos tab and tap the camera button to take a new photo, or tap any photo already in the grid to stamp one you took earlier. Each photo is automatically overlaid with the date, time, location, and any other details you've configured in Settings → Edit your Timestamp. The flow is the same on iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Customizing the stamp

Go to Settings → Edit your Timestamp to change the font, text color, date & time format, caption, and position of the stamp. Your changes apply to every photo you stamp from that point on.

Enable location permissions for photo stamps

Stamping multiple photos at once

In the Photos tab, tap an unstamped photo to select it, then tap each additional photo you want to include — there's no press-and-hold step, every tap adds or removes a photo. Tap the stamp button to apply your overlay to all of them in one go. A single batch holds up to 250 photos; stamp anything beyond that as a second batch.

Deleting originals after stamping

Enable 'Delete originals after stamping' in Settings → Preferences to have the app prompt you to remove the un-stamped original each time you stamp a photo. You'll always be asked to confirm before anything is deleted. Nothing is removed automatically.

Projects

What is a project?

A project groups related stamped photos and videos together, for example a job site inspection, a construction progress log, or an event. Every stamped photo belongs to a project so you can find it later.

Creating a project

Open the Projects tab and tap the + button. Enter a project name and, if you're signed in, optionally assign it to a team. Tap Create to save. You can also create a project on the fly while stamping a photo.

Local vs. team projects

Local projects are stored only on your device and aren't visible to anyone else. Team projects are synced to the cloud and shared with every member of the team, which works well when multiple people are adding photos.

Teams

Creating a team

Tap the + button in the Projects tab, then choose a team from the Team picker or tap 'Create Team…'. Enter a team name, optionally add members by email right away, and tap Create. You become the team Owner.

Team roles & permissions

Owner — Full control: invite & remove members, manage all projects, rename or delete the team. Editor — Can invite members and create or edit team projects, but cannot delete the team. Viewer — Can view all team projects and photos, but cannot add, edit, or delete anything.

Managing your team

In the Projects list, find your team's section header. Tap the Manage button on the right side of the header. Owners see 'Manage', other members see 'View'. From there you can rename the team, invite new members, see pending invites, remove members, share an invite link or QR code, and leave or delete the team.

Leaving or deleting a team

In Team Management, scroll to the bottom and tap Leave Team or Delete Team if you're the Owner. Leaving removes your access to all team projects. Deleting permanently removes the team for everyone. Team projects become unassigned but your stamped photos are not deleted.

Inviting People

Inviting by email

In Team Management tap Invite member → Enter Email and type the person's email address. If they already have an account they're added straight away. Otherwise they receive an email containing an 8-character invite code valid for 7 days.

Inviting from Contacts

Tap Invite member → Choose from Contacts to pick someone directly from your address book. If the contact has multiple email addresses, you'll be asked which one to use. The app sends them an invite email automatically.

Showing a QR code

On iPhone and iPad, open Team Management and tap Show QR Code. Hold the screen up so nearby colleagues can scan it with their phone's camera and join the team without typing anything. Displaying a QR code is coming soon to Android. Until then, Android owners and editors can add people from Team Management by email or from Contacts, and the invite email carries an 8-character code the new member can enter on any device.

Joining a Team

Accepting an email invite

Open your invite email and tap the link. The app opens and adds you to the team automatically. You can also copy the 8-character code from the email, go to Settings → Account → Join Team, paste the code, and tap Join Team.

Scanning a QR code

Ask a team Owner or Editor to show the team's QR code from Team Management on an iPhone or iPad. Scan it with your phone's camera and the invite opens in the app, confirming your membership right away. Scanning works from an Android phone as well as an iPhone — only the displaying side needs to be on iOS for now. If nobody nearby can show a code, ask to be invited by email and use the 8-character code instead.

Sync & Cloud

How syncing works

Team projects sync automatically in the background. When you add photos to a team project they upload to the cloud, and your teammates see them the next time their app refreshes. A cloud icon on the project card shows the sync status.

WiFi-only sync

Enable Sync on WiFi only in Settings → Preferences to avoid using cellular data for uploads. While active, photo uploads are paused until you connect to WiFi.

Unsynced projects

If you created projects before signing in, they appear as local projects. Open the project, tap Manage Project, and pick a team from the Team picker — that starts syncing it to the cloud and makes it visible to your teammates.

Account & Settings

Creating an account

Go to Settings → Sign In or Create Account. On iPhone and iPad you can sign in with Apple, Google, or a magic link sent to your email; on Android, with Google or a magic link. An account is free and required to create teams and sync projects across devices.

Timestamp It Pro

On every platform, Pro unlocks all fonts, unlimited stamping, cloud backup, and team collaboration. On iPhone and iPad it also adds StampCam and PDF, Excel, and ZIP export, which are coming to Android. Go to Settings → Upgrade to Timestamp It Pro to see the current subscription options.

Managing or canceling your subscription

Pro is billed by whichever store you subscribed through, so that's where you manage it. Subscribed on iPhone or iPad: open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, then Timestamp It. Subscribed on Android: open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, then Timestamp It. Either way you can view your renewal date, change your plan, or cancel. Canceling stops future renewals and you keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
